In a client's words
"I was drowning
in a rough sea. I'd collected bits and pieces, built a raft, and pulled myself
over the side. I floated until I reached an island where I got help to build
a sturdy boat. I sailed that boat for a while, but it was getting cramped,
and I needed to stretchmy legs, my mind, my heart, my life. But it was
safe in that boat, tied up at the dock, and I was afraid to rock my boat!
I needed a coach, and there was Barbara! Today, I'm thriving!"

| How
I Will Work With You |
| |
|
|
I'm a Survivor's Coach!
I coach people who have already done a lot of their
healing work. Now they're ready to move from Surviving to Thriving!
|
 |
|
I'll meet you exactly
where you are, right now. I'll ask, "What have you always wanted
to do? What are your passions? What do you value? Why are you here,
on Earth? What are your goals? What keeps you from getting there? You
have a fantastic life ahead! What do you want to do with it?"
As you talk, I will listencarefully
and curiously!
Then, you and I will
create an alliancean agreementfor how we will work together.
I know that, because you are a Survivor, you already possess great wisdom
and skills for living, and I'll help you to find answers that are right
for you now. I'll keep my eye on your goals, help you get unstuck, and
gently nudge you back on track when you veer off.
As a therapist who has
worked with Survivors for more than twenty years, I have the experience,
skills, tools, training, and the confidence necessary to help you move
along on your journey.
As you become a Thriver
and reach your goals, your life will become balanced. You'll feel healthy,
energetic, and experience deep joy and satisfaction.
Ready? Set? Go!

Please Note:
Coaching Differs from Therapy!
Therapy:
Focus: understanding and healing internal issues of past and present. Insight
and problem oriented. Explores genesis of behaviors that create low self-esteem.
Asks "Why?" and "From Where?" Uses therapy techniques;
transference is a tool. Accountability is not commonly expected.
Coaching:
Focus: evolving and manifesting potential in present and future; healing is
a side effect. Solution-oriented. Explores actions and behaviors that create
high self-esteem. Asks "What's next?" and "What Now?"
External issues. Transference is inappropriate. Uses coaching skills. Accountability
is commonly expected.
