A Typical Reiki Healing Session
|
| |
|
| What You May Expect |
|
| |
| INITIAL SESSION: The first session lasts for
1 hour and 30 minutes. After you arrive, you will fill out a brief intake
form. Then, then while we sit, I’ll answer questions about my Reiki Healing
experience, training, and education. I’ll briefly describe Reiki and how
it works, what I will do, and what you can do to enhance your treatment.
Then you will either sit or lie on a Reiki table or mat while I do a Reiki
Healing Treatment. Before you leave, we will briefly discuss your experience
and what I observed, you’ll pay me, and we’ll schedule the next appointment! |
| |
|
SUBSEQUENT SESSIONS: Subsequent sessions are
1 hour and 15 minutes long. You will usually "check in"—briefly describe
results of the previous session and your current concerns and conditions—then
I will do a Reiki Healing Treatment for approximately 1 hour.

Your Reiki Healing Treatment
|
| |
| You will remain fully clothed, and either lie
on a Reiki table or mat or sit in a chair. I’ll help you to breathe deeply,
and, with eyes open or closed, you’ll "go inside" and focus on allowing
the healing to take place. You may request music or silence. Then, sitting
quietly, I’ll silently request guidance and protection, then place my
hands on or near your head or body in specific positions, and remain focused
on your healing work. You will gradually and naturally enter a deeply
relaxed state, and will always be in control of the process. You may talk
or be silent. I will request permission before beginning and before changing
positions. |
| |
| Reiki gently and naturally helps one to raise
and release unexpressed feelings and memories connected to past or current
experiences. All your feelings—all of you—is welcome here. |
| |
| As the treatment ends, I will "count you out"
of your deeply relaxed state by suggesting you move and stretch, so that
you may re-focus your attention and safely return to your day’s activities.
|
| |
| After the first session, I may also: |
* Tap lightly
* Lightly massage or brush an area
* Blow lightly
* Tone or sing
* Invite you to visualize

How Many Reiki Treatments?
|
| |
In Japan, you would come into a clinic daily,
and often for 3 - 4 hours per treatment. In the West, Reiki practitioners
have adapted Reiki scheduling to the Western mode of living.
Thus: It is generally suggested that one receive 3 treatments within 14-21
days. I encourage you to try to do this. If this is a hardship for you,
please talk it over with me, and we’ll work something out.
After the series of three, you may schedule treatments as often as one
or more a week, every 2, 3, or 4 weeks—or more: to clear and re-balance
your energy, to prevent illness from taking hold, or just to relax and
enjoy giving yourself a gift of deep healing. |
